A turn left into Main st through the town of Mornington and right onto Esplanade, this will take us all the way to Point Nepean. (Maps will be supplied on the day) FEE: Entrance Fee at the gates as follows: Adults $7.00 Child/ Conc $3.50 Family $17.50 Point Nepean is a popular tourist destination renowned for its historic features, outstanding coastal scenery and panoramic views of Bass Strait, the Rip and Port Phillip Bay . Point Nepean has a long history of use by indigenous people and contains a wide number of aboriginal archaeological sites. The density of sites is amongst the highest in Victoria. The existing National Park protects the remains of military fortifications from the 1880's, World War 1 and World War 2. The former Quarantine Station and Norris Barracks area is rich in Victoria's cultural heritage. Length: 3.5 kilometres Walk: 1.5 hours one way Track: Good Grade: Flat Start: Gunners car park Finish: Fort Nepean *Alternatively you can walk to the point from Gunners Car Park. It is a 3.5 kilometre walk one way. *You can also hire a bike from the Visitor Information Centre at the entrance to Point Nepean and cycle the 6-kilometre track to Fort Pearce. It is then a 1-kilometre walk from Fort Pearce to the Point. $12 Per 3 Hours. Hope to see you there, Rob...
