Advice needed, FG F6 Auto 1/4 mile

First post, new member. 

 

I have purchased an FG F6 auto with 320rwkw..... I am looking for advice on the best start line routine / rpm / boost to get the best et. 

 

Whar tyres are giving the best results?

 

What et can I expect? 

 

Manual or or auto shift? 

 

Any my tips would be greatly appreciated.

you should be able to get into the 11's with that power.

 

leave it in auto; performance mode, specifically.

 

with regard to launching a ZF with 275 MT's (or other sticky semi-slicks):

Left foot hard on brake, pull handbrake on, push throttle until it starts to creep a tiny bit, back off throttle a tiny bit so that it settles still and build as much boost as you're willing to hammer through the tailshaft... Then simultaneously drop the handbrake quickly, let off the brake and ease the throttle to 100% to minimize/prevent wheelspin. Experiment based on surface

Handbrake only needed on manual.

Try in "D", "Performance" may hold gear a bit too long.

 

Stall it up

Note: the stock auto cuts revs if you hold the stall too long.

Thanks for the replies guys... I’ve done plenty of racing in fast purpose built stuff but this is new to me. As you have the experience I just thought it best to ask for a few tips to get me started heading in the right direction.

 

What tyre brand and size are working well. 19” or 20”? I was leaning toward MT radials.

275/45/17 mickey thompson et street radials on stock ba/f falcon rims are good for 9's.

no, of course not, just saying the tyres have done it on a falcon with more power no worries, so they'll easily support whatever 320rwkw is capable of on the track

Awesome thank you for your advice. Are you talking just a factory alloy 17” rim?

 

BA/BF/FG all the same?
