After following the thread, I had my car back to the dealer for warranty issues on Thursday last week and got them to write in big red letters "Do not reflash PCM, at customers request" when I was aked why, they said that they had no idea what I was talking about!! Either they think I am naive or they really don't know sh*t about what they are working on. I love the end line in the article "But of course, it is possible we just imagined it" HAHAHA

Now its out in the open.I note fords careful wording.I would like to know:What do they define as "normal operation"?Has power been altered by any other mods the software has implemented, other than boost? (Ie intake, exhaust timing etc)?THeir wording is way too specific. I work for a big company, and I know careful avoidance of the truth and lying by omission when I see it.
Guest xr6fanatic Guests Posted 25/04/05 10:45 AM Posted 25/04/05 10:45 AM I really feel for owners of these gorgeous supercars....I currently own a "Normal" EF xr6.......and just after purchase...had it at my local Ford dealer (based in Gosford)....to service the auto box and a few other "Minor" things......and cound NOT Get over how dumb I was made feel......they even tried to tell me that they had no record of my car being serviced there B4...even though I could prove that they SOLD the car new in 95.......duuuhhhhh.I reckon that everyone who has an xr6 turbo...and has no choice but to take it to ford..shoudl clearly tell them NOT to detune it.......unless they want to see the inside of a lawyers office........that should slow em down.......Happy motoring.....and FORD Still rules!!!!!

They noted well and truly how slow the car was down the 1/4 and on the track compared to the car 2 years ago!.It dynoed a big 192.8 rear wheel kw so where was the loss of speed???. My guess this is how Ford are now setting the tune on the new T's and flashing this into our cars when getting their little mitts on them when servicing or repairs. The XR6T they tested was a embarrasment to every T owner (14.81 @ 157kph/ 97.5mph).Ford certainly aren't doing themselves ANY favours in the eye of the public lately, it's hard to see a good write up at all anymore, especially after the Typhoon disaster (I bet they are swamped with orders!!!!).Blind Freddy Jesus can see they need to get MORE grunt to keep up with the "Jones's" but they seem to be happy to go slower. They should be aiming at the 300kw /600nm mark.

I can't say I've felt any extra power, but I can say I haven't lost any power. 208rwkw for a properly strapped down stocker can't be bad PS, I had my 5 mins of fame
