So just got back from Europe and one of the reasons I went over was to do some well-known Passes in the Swiss/Italian Alps.  Here's a few pics of the Stelvio Pass that I first saw on Top Gear.  O M G - almost wet myself was so excited doin it :bliss:  We had a good day as it was over-cast in the morning which kept most of the tourists away.  So by the time we got there probably only 8 other cars we saw in all.  Goin up from the Bormio side reminded me of the roads we have here in AUS like going up to Falls Creek or Hotham but farrk me nothing compares with the road goin down the other side heading into Bolzano - that's the piece of road most famous and nothin compares with it in my opinion.  Having left hand drive - the right hand turns were all blind unless you have a front seat passenger to tell you if anyone else comin the other way :wwww:

Here are some pics I took

Nothing fancy - Opel reasonably priced car if you know what I mean Keithy.  Unfortunately the rental car companies had nothing much to offer one way from Switzerland to Italy but had better cars on offer if I returned them to Switzerland.  Just for those thinking of doin similar - I based myself in Interlaken and had access to quite a few fantastic passes within a days drive in Switzerland - like Sustenpasse, Oberalppass, Gottard Pass, Furkapass (believe me I was sayin Farken Gud Pass as I drove it :roflmbo: ) and Grimselpass.   But Stelvio was the one I enjoyed the most

Such a shame you didn't have a performance car for it, but I'm sure you had heaps of fun nonetheless.

I think your trip needs it's own thread... Haha
