BA's have a shit time full stop. Depends what he wants to do with it. If he's gonna spend a lot obviously it'll be ok but we all know BA's have their fair share of issues holding any kinda power without spending a fortune. If you can afford the extra mate, jump on a BF. Better gearbox, motor, everything. and for like 1,300 more? I'd definitely go the BF.

A well cared for ba is a better deal than a cheap bf. Unfortunately ciarans trans choice is the limiting factor.

I was chasing a BF with the goodies, but come to think of it, I probably won't be able to get one in my range and also have cash left over for pre-start - so I'm more than likely looking at getting a BA.

IMO sort out your house first and than save up for a late model BF if you can. They are only going to get cheaper and something will come up eventually, just have to be patient. I would not buy an early BA unless it was an F6.

Also don't skimp on your house as you will only regret it down the track, cars are a lot easier and cheaper to replace

I don't mind getting the 4spd, but the ZF is such a sweet drive I'd much prefer that.

No more car loans, I'm solid on that one now. Been paying car loans for the last 10 years and it keeps biting me in the ass when it comes to a house loan.

Paid my Jetta off so that's it for car loans.

Plus I don't like FGs Much prefer a BF. A well done FG is nice but costs too much for me.

Yeah good point. Initially my reasoning for selling the Jetta was to buy a cheaper car and have more funds for doing stuff at pre-start. Then I got the idea of buying an XR6T again so those extra funds would be very minimal if anything.

I should just wait another 6 months and see what's going then. I hate it how F6's are still 18k+, because that's the car I want to own but well out of reach at least this and probably next year.

Put in the house, paint, landscape etc.

In particular kitchen, bath or bigger rooms etc.

Get house re valued 6-12months later and remortgage when time right to finish of house and little extra for the car.

But stick to the budget borrowed for, don't cut into house funds!

I'm one where when it comes to cars I get an idea and jump at anything that appears. Really bad attribute of mine but I said after my last f-up that I'd spend 1000% more time on the next purchase, so seems that's what I'll do.

Haha the tune is always tempting. I have owned 2 of these and the first one I had tuned, the second one I restrained myself from doing so.

Both have been BFs, so I would like to keep to a BF but as budget permits it may not be possible.

There's only a handful of BFs in Perth, and they are either all stupidly high kms with just all the standard inclusions for 12+ grand or decent with what I want for over my limit (16+ grand)

I'm in no rush so I'll wait until something pops up. I've been told this is the last car for at least 5 years - I have a tendency to change cars every 1.5-2 years or so lol

What's the budget?
