:spoton: I'll look into it a little more... I'm pretty sure there IS some kind of remote tax break... Where I am working now in Harvey it's apparently worth $30 something per day and the job I'm looking at in Port Headland is worth about $130 odd per day worked off your tax bill.

I'm not overly worried since the base wage on this Headland job is $2800/week after tax plus overtime and allowances doing 2&1 FIFO  ... God bless the WA economy :stupid:

I doubt you will be able to get $200/day BACK, but stuff like food etc can be deductible. you can also get a deduction for 1 watch a year while working on a mine site.

Kael, these links might be what you are meaning.

I work for myself in Kalgoorlie atm and I can pay myself $96.60 for meals and $102.50 for accomodation each day and not pay tax on it, doesnt appear on my income statement. Not sure how you would go claiming it back as an employee as it depends on how your employer has setup up your wages as you might already be getting this similar thing factored into your salary package. Hope this is some help to you, best bet is to shoot in to see an account (which is tax deductable) and they will run you through your best options.

P.s headland is a dump.
