Sounds like an awfully risky thing to attempt whilst away from your home drive-way / garage. I don't have an edit, so I can't help you out with advice, unfortunately.

3hrs I regapped the plugs and tried to down load a programme it was going good till they stopped then they started to flash and  car does not start

how long was the box pluged into the car once it started transfering the file before you unplugged it???
