hi im new here

I come across this site and my dream is to 1 day get a xr6 turbo or xr8

I currently have a 97 KJ II 1.8L laser 5 speed

your fuel economy figures make my laser look like it runs on a oily rag

I get low 8's high 7's on BP premium with about half city half highway, and I can get in to the 6's if I just take it easy on the highway

admitly I dont drive it flat out but I dont stand still in it either

robert

After another fill, it is now returning an average of 14.7lt/100km. (19.3MPG for the oldies).

BTW the trip computer shows 15.7lt/100km :birthdaywish:

chrislak> Maybe you wouild find a boost/vacuum guage helpful - the guage can "teach" you the basics of driving frugally.

Can you believe this!!!

After a trip down the coast (From Woy Woy to Nowra) and back. Giving the car a few squirts through the City, Wollongong, and Nowra I managed an 11.4l/100km! (at 6000km) Can you believe it... Now something is going on here, because I had my car in at Ford Thursday before the weekend, and I have done this trip before, but usually get around the 13 mark (at 5000km, and I've actually never be below 12!)

Anyway, I did notice that at idle (when the car is warm) is telling me I'm using around 1.7- 2ltrs per hour, but before this went into ford it was 1ltr per hour. (So this has gone up, but the driving fuel consumption has gone down???)

Any comments would be great

Had my auto Turbo for 2 months now (5000Km). By the trip computer I'm averaging low 12s /100 km for mainly freeway cruising and 13s when I mix this with surburban driving. Doing the actual sums after each refill I'm averaging 11.8 lt/100 km for the 2 months.

my trip computers come down from 20L/100kms when I first got it to 15.2l/100kms 3000kms later and its staying about level unless I go on a long highway run. that's about 50:50 highway to city driving.

With just on 1500km now the latest average I have calculated is 15.8lt/100km which matches well with the trip computer figure of 15.9lt/100km.

BTW the figures on last tank only were 16.8lt/100km :pinch:
