Cruise to the Adelaide River+ a Dorat rd, Special Stage.

DATE: Sunday 09th of September.

TIME: 0900 am

DESTINATIONS: Adelaide River

DESCRIPTION: This is a half day cruise, Its a blast down the Stuart Hwy and the twisties of Dorat RD

DURATION: Approximately 4 to 5 hours including lunch.

DISTANCE: 315 km

FUEL: Fill up before the cruise starts, AUSFUEL stocks 95 and 98 ron fuels.

MEET: Ausfuel on Wishart Rd

Drive: 221 km – about 2 hours 54 mins

1. Head east on Wishart Rd toward Tivendale Rd 2.0 km 1 min

2. Turn left at Tivendale Rd 2.1 km 3 mins

3. Turn right at Stuart Hwy 98.8 km 1 hour 21 mins

4. Head southeast on Stuart Hwy toward Memorial Terrace 0.4 km

Stop for a rest and Toilet break @ Adelaide River servo

5. Continue on Old Stuart Hwy 0.2 km

6. Turn right at Dorat Rd 32.1 km 25 mins

7. Head south on Dorat Rd toward Oolloo Rd 33.8 km 26 mins

8. Head northeast on Dorat Rd toward Stuart Hwy 46 m

9. Turn left at Stuart Hwy 50.7 km 35 mins

10. Continue on Old Stuart Hwy 0.2 km

11. Continue on Stuart Hwy 0.4 km

12. Turn right at Hopewell St 85 m 1 min

LUNCH: Adelaide river hotel. Standard pub fair.

Return to Darwin 94.1 km – about 1 hour 18 mins

1. Head southeast on Hopewell St toward Stuart Hwy 95 m

2. Turn right at Stuart Hwy 94.0 km

Cruise members can break off at any time on the return trip.

BRING:

Optional UHF 40 channel CB Radio to keep across road hazards and general chatter. It truly adds to the experience if you have a CB, even if it's a $25 Dick Smith special. Seventytwo has 1 CB for loan during the cruise if anyone is interested.

RULES:

1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc...

2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members.

3. Use the Buddy system; always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost.

4. CB Radio's; if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. It is highly recommended to have CB as it enhances the enjoyment of the cruise being able to hear about road hazards and join in on the social chatter.

5. Please turn up to the meeting points with a sufficient fuel in your tank and enough time before the departure time.

6. During the cruise, please have head-lights on normal beam. It is up to individuals if fog lights are on, but be mindful that in some States, it is illegal to have fog lights on in most situations.

7. The Cruise Controller attending the cruise has the final say on the cruise route.
