Going slightly OT in an OT thread, the A-10 and its milk bottle sized, depleted uranium ammunition spewing cannon of much awesomeness, is now slated to serve until 2028. Airframes began the upgraded to the "A-10C" in 2005.

Bit more about the cannon - If shot at by an A-10, you'd never hear it - the rounds are supersonic. Not to mention even one round on target is enough to kill a conventional main battle tank.

This gun (Metal Storm) can fire a 1,000,000 per minute.

Although at 60,000 a minute it sounds more like a loud fart in the woods.

At 180 rounds fired at 1,000,000 rounds a minute, THAT sounds like the follow though

Oh yeah....it was invented by this guy in Queensland by the name of Mike O'Dwyer who used to be a grocer. Go figure!!! Can't really see the similarity between tomatoes and a gun that can fire 16000 rounds a second but anyway.

Specter AC-130 Gunship is one AWSOME weapon. I was hoping that the NSW government would buy one for APEC. It could wipe out 1,000 protesters from 30,000ft without any sound. That would be an interesting deterrent to protesters :biggun:
