Hey guys, since I cant put this in the main section, perhaps someone can move it there for me hehe!

A few of us are holding a fairly low key track day on Wednesday 30th April at AHG. Its the V8 supercars long track and we have one instructor at our disposal.

Its the afternoon and cost will be fairly minimal. I think about $75 (or less) depending on people. I think last one with ran with 12 people and got plenty of laps

Payments dont need to be in for a while and we have about 4 or 5 spots left (due to it being midweek). I'm currently the only RWD car but theres a couple of well modded wrxs, STi's and Evo's that my mates own. Its not timed (legal reasons etc etc) and really its just about having a bit of fun!

if anyones keen shoot me a pm or whatever!

Cheers mate! its at AHG. The long track that the V8's go on in the weekends for their supercar rides. Should have been more specific. Its not as good as collie or wanners but its close and cheap and easy on the car! My umm, friend, ran his car in on it :D

We also get one skid pan to use as a "warm down". Last time we ran it, we all decided 2 laps. one full throttle and one warm down. Perhaps this time. If we can incorporate the skidpan into it it can be a bit of fun!

Also we now have 8 confirmed with a maximum of 14. Were getting track for $500 so with 10 people 50 bucks each for a couple of hours!

I was going as is.... Will that be a problem for stopping?

Well I've done 3 or 4 AHG long track days (and a host of skidpan / cone stuff) and TBH I've havent done anything :) Like I said, I know a bloke who ran his XR6T in on this track without any issues of anything breaking!

I always make sure my brake pads / coolant / rotors / fluids etc are all good (regular service stuff I suppose) on the street so I just drive straight onto the track. Adjusting the tyre pressures can help reduce tyre wear but its a good track so its not to bad!

If you want to be serious, your more than welcome to change suspension, pads, fluids, rotors, run race tyres etc. Where does it stop though? I think if you show some mechanical sympathy your car will never known its done a track day :)

Pretty much same as WAW including the Enclosed shoes, long pants, helmet and long shirt stuff!

Ohh yeh stopping is no issue (well it is actually lol) but standard brakes are OK if that's what you have. Of course with any car that has a bit of poke its always nice to stop quicker though!

We've always had chicanes put in near the top of the straight to slow us down and I was hitting about 170ish at that point. Good news was that I wasnt really far behind a modded MR evo (hitting 175ish!) and was ahead of an 07 WRX!

Yep sounds good to me. Straight off the street onto the track! :spoton:

I look forward to it!

one thing I will say is the standard pads are not going to have uch life left if you really punish it. last track day I was on I put new pads in before the event, and they got about 1/3 worn in 22 (not continuous) laps of the waneroo short track.
