Had the turbo territory sitting on full comprehensive insurance since forever, finally cancelled it today as I've driven it for maybe 4 months out of the past 3 years.

@Puffwagonhi, iv got a saas digital water temp guage to fit, need a suitable place to fit the water temp sensor 1/8 npt thread I think. Pro flow do a billet alloy thermostat housing that has a screw in hose tail for earlier ba,bfs, fg has the port blanked off. I wondered if I could use that port for the water temp sensor, what do you reckon? Is the top section of the thermostat housing blocked off with the thermostat until it gets to temp and opens up to let water to radiator? Cheers puff.

Water flows from the head into the top of the radiator. Chucking a temp sensor in the bottom of the housing will work just fine.

@Puffwagon the port is in the top of the thermostat housing on all models but fg is blanked off and doesnt use it to recirc to header tank, that's the port im thinking of using for water temp sensor. Will that be ok?

It's not really gonna matter man. I've seen thermostats with the jiggle pin and some with just a hole. You might notice a little jump in the temp when the thermostat cracks open if the pin is in place. If it's just got a hole then it should heat up more or less evenly. That is overthinking it though and doesn't matter.
