I already have a 4inch venom dump, 5 inch cat into single 3.5 then into twin 2.5 then stock after there. I want to do something with that soon. That will help with valve float as well.

Why not just put a set of valve springs in it and not have to worry? Even if it's close to being on valve float it will be destroying the retainers slowly fretting and spinning acting like a lathe cuting apart the spring seat.

I'm taking the car off the road in about 3 weeks as the rego will be lapsing and I hardly use it at the moment.

 

I'm looking to modify it further and then renew the rego later in the year. 

 

I'll be doing the retainers and valve guide seals at the same time as the springs. 

 

For now I've only got some road tuning to do and one drag day then it goes in the shed.

WTF! couldn't picture you with a Late model camira but we all did silly things when we were younger.
