Gah I'm so p!ss3ed I miss this night...wrote it down and all! Can we do over? :beerchug:

Yer that was one of our club members with their brand spanker stock as a rock FG F6 with the ZF6. They managed a 12.6 for the night in the end. Dont feel too bad, they frequent the track a fair bit so they have some good experience :)

T

Yeah, that was me. It was the F6's first time down the track and I'm happy with the times it did.

 & nice times mate

If you have the timeslip handy, what was your MPH & 60' time on the 12.6 second run ??

Thank you for the welcome.

My 60' time was 2.121 sec & MPH was 109.48.

His mph are alot lower than Brendan's though Simon (116 vs 120) so going quicker than 11.8 in street trim with MT streets will be a big ask. Very good effort though mike as the best I could manage at those speeds was 12.4 @ 116 on the factory dunlops with ~295rwkw on the BPT Dyno.

Its not really something that can be guessed upon. The way a car gets traction or how its peddled will affect MPH by such a large amount theres to many variables to take into account. At the low end of the power scales lets look at a couple just for kicks shall we. Renae Watson run 12.6 @ 111 MPH with 252 rwkw's, dead stock car tune only BF Auto. That car over a night of runs would run as much as 113 mph, as little as 110.

The higher scales

Brendans car is also a good example, on the night of running his 11.8 @120 mph he also did an 11.9 @115 mph, so you have 1 tenth difference in ET but 5 MPH difference. To also note on that his 11.8 on dunlops was with a 2.007 60 ft, I think Brendans car would be capable of running a possible 11.65 to 11.75 with no changes just a harder launch. Phil Watsons 11.1 @ 125 over 2 years ago. Well before we had launch changes on the 6 speed for stalling it up and with only 370 rwkw's. His car was running 1.8 to 1.9's and ran 11.2's and 11.3's@ as much as 128 mph.

I think Mike now having a couple of runs under his belt and he grabs my ET's as his confidence grows and he gets the hang of it his car he will run 11.6's or pretty damn close to it. Whilst MPH is generally a good indication of power its not always going to tell the truth at the end of the track because of the above mentioned variables. The most common one is ppl rolling off the throttle thinking they have finished the run when they actually havent.

Darren boland had 420 rwkw's and did 10.50's at 130 mph with 1.6 60 fts.

Like I said, large variations in MPH on all these cars changed purily by small changes in the way a car was driven, How it was stalled up, how much wheel spin it got, how fast it 60 fts, what RPM you change gears at. Just to name a few.

In terms of a true street car versus a drag car you can work out power off the mph as a drag car will usually run consistant mph and et allowing power calculations and ET estimates to be made. These cars are far from drag cars :spit:

Thanks

Simon

Certainly is alot faster then what the magazines have been publishing that they are getting from standard cars. Not suprosing though, the ones we have done so far have been making 270 + rwkw's stock. :spit:

If I can just add to that aswell Simon, I had borrowed some MT slicks for the night and ran most of my runs with them. I never sat there and really smoked them up, as they were hire ones and didn't want to destroy them. I had cracked into the 11's with them, so I was already happy, so I thought I'd whack on my stock dunlops and see what I could do on my street tyres. Low 12 for my first run, then my fastest time of the night a 11.82, then a 11.9. As I had a mate there with a video, I sat there and gave them some heat, but by know means as much as the dudes in there ve gts's. God I love smashing the crapadoores.

I also changed rpm of when I changed my gears as I got more confident and in general gave it a little more sh1t than earlier in the night. Thinking now that if I gave it more sh1t with the MT's and worked on my launch I could of got into the lower 11's, but who knows?

For the money that I've spent and mods that I've got, I'm happy as a dog with 2 d1cks.

But I do want more power now!
