Finished Stranger Things - thanks tubbie for the heads up

Definitely an excellent show.

Best use of child actors I've seen in years - the kids were good, but it was the story and direction that worked so well with them.

@Rab
Killjoys is pretty good if you don't mind a bit of b grade sci-fi.

Sounds right up my alley - will put it on the list :)

Just finished season 2 of Mr. Robot.

I had the 'twist' of the first season pegged on the first episode, but the twist in this season I didn't expect. The certain muted look of filming digitally works well for this cybercrime drama, complimented by creator/director Sam Esmail's stylish arrangement of angles, tracking shots, and long takes. And then there's the excellent score from Mac Quayle, then there's the superb acting from not just the main players, but practically all the cast (BD Wong kills it every scene he gets), then there's that freaky 90's sitcom episode smack in the middle of proceedings. There's a growing trend where hit shows get really good, confidently-made second seasons, unafraid to try new things, push on in expanding their world as opposed to playing it safe and trying to replicate the successful parts of the season prior.

Season 2 of Mr. Robot is a solid example of this, and my only struggle is remembering half the faces who popped back up after a year's gap between seasons and expecting us to remember everything in a plot that is one whole. It's a dense but smart show, representing the hacking culture more accurately than anything else prior, and the inspiration of real-world events, people, and companies is prevalent throughout, making it easier to associate with and worry that such things aren't too far outside the realm of possibility. Thus begins the long wait for season 3. In the meantime I guess I'll go back to another 90's sitcom and watch Dinosaurs, which just finished downloading.

I'd have to agree there Stubbie, I thoroughly enjoyed season 2 of Mr Robot. Very well acted and put together.
