I was a couple meters away at the time so all was well.

Ralphie had a spare plastic one so "we" fitted that and raced the car at 241km/h to test it out.

 

@turboknapp also had a spare ally one which I kept in the glovebox all event just in case. 

 

Racewars.  You guys had bits falling off left right and center.  Maybe you will get your sh*t together next year.

Ran flawless all weekend. Most $$$.  My BA ain't got no built motor or fancy turbos. Maybe slow this year.  BUT won't be next year.

Need more power.  It was our first attempt.  Underestimated what was required 

 

BUT the first thing essential is preparation. Which goes a long way to eliminating failures.

I've raced my car a lot. You can be extremely prepared and things still fail. That's racing. It's a process of racing, breaking and building stronger. I have had my fair share of failures, most of which I could not have prepared for (apart from going all out to start with!). If you plan on racing with big hp (I had had about 500 hub kw at RW) expect some breakages, irrespective of preparation, along the way. That's racing.
