I went to 2 HIFI places today to talk to about pre wiring my house for Dolby Atmos in the theatre room and speakers for the alfresco area.

First place quoted around the $1800

Second place said anywhere from 3-4k.

F*#K ME!!

Both had different views on how they would set up the room/house and one trying to me into a Bose system.

Looks like I wont be getting a home theatre now not at that pricing.

Pixy what exactly do you want done, structured cabling so you can say plug into the wall or roof mount speakers etc? I reckon I know a bloke that knows a little about electrical and audio that could help you over a few beers

^ that's what I was gonna say! Tell em they're dreaming at that price pixy. Just get a useful sparky mate to identify where you need to run conduit and where to run speaker wire and fit speaker wire terminals etc to make it all neat. Beyond that just but the gear, and stay the f*ck away from Bose "home theatre" gear, it's balls. Feel free to hit me up for ideas if need be mate, I did used to work at a HiFi store
