Landed where the power connector plugs in. End of power cord snapped, case cracked and male pin inside power socket all loose. Not sure if it will charge or not as the power adapter is completely stuffed.

Hope that didn't short out mate, had one (2 months old, $1000 laptop...) recently at the shop and because it had shorted something out the entire motherboard was toast. Boots up fine on battery so I think MB is fine. I reckon repair is worth a shot at that sort of price as it's a decent machine. If it was a $500 job I'd probably just cut my losses. 1
