Only kind of good thing about it is a sideways promotion to the front office engineering department and becoming a dedicated desk jockey transfering all our drawings over to solidworks.

Never had schmancy gear though, never even had metric cept the cross slide dial on one of the could be shifted to read metric. Used to love the dividing head for the miller, none of the other younger lads could do fractions or trig so I got to play on it a lot. Pissing me off that new current crop of apprentices get pumped out and can't grind up a bit of tool steel and dont know what a shaper or a scraper is.
