Help Removing Side Mirror Covers Fg

Does anyone know how to remove covers on side mirrors G6E?

As far as I remember they do just pop off, although it takes some force.

I pushed mirror in on side closet to car.

Then look inside, you could see a small hole with a black clip holding in my case the white cover.

Put small flathead screw driver and pryed a little

As cover started to come away got a plastic knife in other side and pryed apart.

Have also heard you can yank mirror out to gain access, problem is you can break clips easy, so my local Ford dealer said.
