I like Fluff's idea... Girls have a way with making a house look good. My place was bare until a girl got involved. Many trips it Ikea and 1000's of dollars later, it looks like a home

I think they are toughened glass, but yes very pricey but also, right colour = totally awesome look

The shelves out of raw old timber like railway sleepers or something ^^^ looks mad imo

Tiled splash backs are awesome coz they are diverse and usually dont go off trend... glass can go off trend in the wrong colour and look very unhomely... however is easy to fit ontop of tiles anyway and a thin version can be very cheap from certain kitchen places and coz youve already used a tile and waterproof you can get this whoch is actually a plastic but looks glass... and just liquid nails it over the top.

Always a cheaper option than paying the builder
