like I originally said, do it through the audio options in control panel (control panel -> sound), then in the "playback" devices, right-click and disable the one you don't want to work at that specific time and right-click and "enable" the one that you do actually want to work at that specific time. Leave both plugged in all of the time as you currently do have them.

Speakers until/unless you plug in the headphones.

 

Auto switch to the cans when you plug them in.

 

Same as your phone.

 

Not using headphones? Unplug and it switches to the speakers.

keif I tried that way, it thinks there that same type of audio, ie both plugged in only one audio option in the playback box.

Since the guys here have twisted my arm, I am currently looking at getting water cooling soon.

That being said I am currently looking at possibly upgrading some of my gear, if the price is right.
