It uses a different subsystem for the "xbox anywhere" games I think which is a bit of a closed garden.

 

Sounds like another fail by MS to make a proprietary gaming ecosystem within windows

Motion in joy might work, does with a ps3/ps3 control on windows.

Yeah - problem isn't getting them to work with windows - they work fine on the PC already.

 

It's the extra layer that the "Play Anywhere" throws up - from what I've (quickly) read it does the same (or similar) hardware check as on the XBOX ONE - hardware chip or something on all 3rd party devices. Game will run more like an app rather than as a normal program does.

That's crap. It might be worth a shot though, I've used it to emulate an Xbox controller previously and in came up as one in the devices and printers page.
