They have onboard wifi/internet

It sucks - porn dropped out at 1am last time and I woke up to it reconnecting as we pulled into station pier.

I just checked the forecasts - they say we should be clear of rain until at least monday.

As the first one over there Keith - if anything goes wrong with that it's all on you.

I heard that Telstra now has continuous mobile coverage from Melbourne to Devonport.  Shall be bringing my hotspot guys.

Car is washed and part way loaded up.  Any locals want to let us know if you plan to join us for some legs?

What's the food like on the ship?  Rab I plan to eat on board rather than before.

Food is "fill your stomach" worthy and expensive.

Grab yourself maccas on the way to the boat - will have a while in line to eat it.

Used to be that you'd choose the "good" restaurant to go to - not any more.

There's nothing first class about the trip over any more - you don't get to pick where/what.

There's a few options, but none are worth looking forward to.

On the way back last time the reheated pizzas did us fine :S

edit: if you wear trackies on the boat you won't look out of place. Every level of food onboard reflects that level of class too.

Well, I must have misheard the heads passage time as we're well past it now... Oh well, won't have internet soon, but will still try to get the moon rise.

Edit: $6 per hour for the on board satellite WiFi. Or $18 for the whole trip...no thanks.

Moon rise was an epic view... Took a bunch of photos but they need editing to see any reasonable detail as there just wasn't enough light for my s7 camera :)

Just a taste:

The water definitely got choppier as soon as we got out into bass strait :)

Morning all. Whoever designed these recliner seats is a fair dinkum flog; heaps of spare room between them to lie back far enough to be comfortable but barely makes a 45degree angle.

Currently docking (mooring?) at Devonport and it looks like the deck I'm parked on will be first called, but I'll be about last actually off the specific deck. I was actually one of the last few cars on board at about 15min before scheduled loading finish time.
