There is a lock lever on the plug with a secondary retaining lock.Released them and the lever pushes the plug apart.

Marco, my clip was broken, making it difficult to remove harness.

So had to remove ECU to release harness.

Did you get some conduit to protect the wire or did you just run relay wire?

Reason I ask is you might pick up electrical interference.

The unit has an adjustment for it but can effect shift RPM indicator if set to high.

So Mick, is that why you ran the conduit. To stop interference? I thought you ran conduit to keep the new wire with the rest of the wires running to the ecu(effectively keeping it neat).

Looks like someone may have been at my ECU already?

Cable ties?

This is the back view. No clips.

I am going to assume that the cable tie needs to come off. Then said clip will be accessible.

If I get coilovers in future, will the ECU need to come off?

Mine had cable tie also on that support collar.

Have you tried to release the harness from under the ECU?

Yes that's the reason I ran that small conduit, and to make it neat.

Marco,

all the connections you need to make for a shift light/tach driver are located in the plug marked red in the attached. You don't need to remove the ECU for coil overs.

Thanks for that Luke. I would have ripped the wrong plug out.

Guys - hearing a strong rumour that Perth Street Car Magazine has stopped publishing. If it is true, a pity - use to feature some good local cars.

Yeah I have been looking for it for a while. That would explain it.
