The pads that came with the setup are original and still have about 70% left on them. Worth changing?

Luke's also got black wheels, so the dust gets fairly well hidden. Paddy's also got black wheels, so brake dust won't be such an issue.

I've got chrome wheels on both cars (taxi and Tornado) so I notice brake dust straight away.

Maybe Luke and I should swap pads for a month or two and see what difference we can each notice.

You like hawk pads we get it, but do you really think I can't spot brake dust on black wheels?

Hi guys speaking of pads what is a street pad that has most bite and feel without squeeling and generally being harsh my cars need brake upgrade.

Thanks Tocchi, I'll chuck the pics in here in case others can see them through Facebook links, unsure on privacy settings etc though

Before racing

After 40 laps!

And yeah I have a very dark colour inside my FPV 18" rims (dark argent I guess) and I can see when they are dusty as well. Shiny surface just turns faded/matte looking. Can see it's a layer of dust.

In the end performance is #1 so I care far less about dust and squeaks. Only takes 10 minutes to have them looking primo again! Still, who doesn't want to have their cake and eat it too hahaha. Always looking for an improvement.

My brakes were painted by Mike (XF Falcon). Would cost me $450 to get repainted (two pack paint), same kit as yours - 4 pot front, single PBR rear. That price was ten months ago and included me dropping them off to him, and him making the rear calipers nice and smooth instead of the pitted factory finish.

Good excuse for pics

Mike is now at Reaper Customs, IIRC. If you're lucky he'll have driven his XR GT to work!

Yeah I liked the green and was close to pulling the trigger on that but I chickened out and went something less adventurous. Silver cars with black rims and green brakes look mad though, I Googled it and found a couple silver with green brakes BMWs and Mercs etc. Nice.
