I saw him slide so slowly into the barrier, just locked it up at like 10 km/h. Was odd to see. If it gets cold and hard, the rubber surface just isn't grippy like bitumen. Makes it harder to do smoke shows too I recall the commentator saying since less friction.

But yes, cold would be greasy. Ordered new rear rotors and pads. Got to thinking, why are my rear rotors warped? the fronts do all the work... then the penny dropped *lightbulb*. yup. I know why now. Apparently that can cause the rears to warp if the discs are still hot. I must be long overdue for new rotors 117,000km not sure if they were changed before me purchasing it or not

I generally try to have a cool down, as all components need time to cool. But on that, it is suggested in drivers briefings when you do nights at Barbs that you dont apply your hand brake between runs, due to cracking/warping/welding pads to disc's. 1
