whats the go with these bilelt pumps, do the stock ones like to let go after you start pushing the 340kw mark or is it more based off your limiter loving ?

Pump gears fail when you hit the limiter too often as they cop a sudden shunt.

When the limiter is hit, the throttle closes & revs drop dramatically. Going from 6000rpm to 4000rpm in a split second means that all the force that was on the gears is lost in an instant & they rattle round in the pump then all that force is smashed back through them if your foot's still planted...

spotted a crashed (possibly stolen) BF XR6 Ute not sure if it was a 'T' was that real dark purplish colour

ahh yep. that's pretty lame

must just be a weak point cos in my rb engine just bounce limiter heaps n didnt care at all

umm anyone know where u could pick up an old turbo block / blown engine ?

Pump gears aren't made to be abused in any car unless they're billet so you may of just been lucky if they were standard!

Not sure on a blown XR6T engine but I know of a high km long motor in good nick for cheap if you're keen? Comes with invoice & warranty as well

lol well mines not blown so I dont need a running one. just thinkin of the possibilities of building forged short engine

A block that's spat a rod will be no good to you anyway, the only reuasable part for your purpose will be the crank.

Buy the long motor for $2500, sell manifolds, turbo & head for nearly that & you've got a block/crank for virtually nothing
