can i have a go.....???

While we are talking about mph v horsepower v mods Ben what do you think it was that made you loose 6 mph after u had more power on the new tune you have now rather than your previous couple of tunes??

Dumb question Lucas, but one I'll answer anyway. If you took a look at the WA drag racing thread the reason his car was down 6 mph with the tune I did for it is self explanatory. But for those that don't understand, the car lost 6 mph due to the high MCT causing timing to be pulled from the spark table. A retune done recently on Ben's ute added 30rwkw peak power to what he had, with a 40 odd rwkw gain in the mid range. This achieved on a high 30 degree day. Previous tunes Ben had detonated, but that's all fixed now :spoton:

What mph does your car run?

Dont forget yours Ben

F6 sedan went 12.01 with over 400rwkw with a built Nizpro engine on MT's.

F6 sedan went 12.30 with built engine, 400rwkw and snapped cv's on MT's..

F6 sedan in QLD went 12.30 with over 360rwkw

F6_Tornado went 12.74 with 330rwkw on street tyres.

F6 Ute 299 rwkw Xtreme Tune 12.85

F6 Ute 299 rwkw Wog Tune 12.80

F6 Ute 323 rwkw BPT Tune 13.11

SO now with your actuator and new found power you should be bale to crack right into the low 12's considering you where able to run 12.8's with alot less power and stock actuator.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yep.

Lucus. The peak figure is nothing and does not tell the whole story of a tune imo.

It is things like peak power, combined with when it's made and how long it's held for which makes a quick car imo.

No point having a 'peaky' car which boosts early then dies off imo.

Remember, My wog tune had the turbo hanging on by 2 bolts, so was down on power that night, and the bpt, as Jas explainted had all safety on and temps went up, power came down.

If you like, I can log you car to see if you have these features enabled??

Oh, I never said low 12's. Low 12's is a big effort, like I said, and out of reach with my 300rwkw.

If I can go 12.50 it would be a big effort on injectors, actuator and a dump pipe & cat..

So can I Simon. With my 275/30/19's on the rear running 42-48psi (tyre pressure, not boost :nono: )it does the same. Or for that matter, the stock 17's will easily turn in 3rd, and the car gets twitchy in 4th gear.

This is not a function of peak power however, moreso, the massive tractive effort these cars can develop :spoton:

The general consensus so far is that the aftermarket intercoolers are a lot more efficient than the factory F6/XR6T intercoolers. That in part is one of the reasons why power outputs vary so greatly between a warm day and a cool day.

The last time I ran at the Motorplex I ran on my 19's. I had traction issues in 3rd gear during 4 runs, namely, wheelspin. I ran my 12.84 @118.11mph that time. Phuck knows what power the car was making - all I have is the 317rwkw figure from the dyno and that is the same tune I ran at the drags.

It's a shame no one recorded it, could have shown you 4 different vids :spoton:
