Im a little confused that the mph doesnt match the time, for an 11 you would think the mph would be upwards of 120

Why??

I'm having this conversation @ FF.com.au at the moment.

Does no-one read my novel??

Should I have run a monster mph, crap ET and say I'm making a megawatt??

Or should I just go out with the correct combination and run an 11??

So far- NO-ONE has got the ET from a manual with the power they make, so what are we basing our mindset on??

Even Simon stated he thought he would run mid 11's and cannot understand his ET. He said the car makes the power, it just didn't cut the ET????

Why did Nizrpo launch at 7000rpm to get it off the line, I launched at 4500 at cut a 1.80!!

It's just too easy to walk in and grab 50kw coz your car is slow.

Maybe people should look at WHY THERE CAR IS SLOW!!!!!

Maybe WE have set the benchmarks??????

For some time now we have had the neddies for some very good times. The MPH has been there to show that. What we need to do now is to put our collective heads together to work out the best manual launch technique.

Geea and co have already done the research for the auto.

Too easy.

Besides, you'd miss the manual on the track and your favourite piece of tarmac.

Mind you, the new ZF comes VERY close.

It was good to be there and see the Son join Steptoe in the 11's especially with the man behind the tune present.

Goes to prove how "good" practice makes perfect.

Well done guys

Good question, and one that the guy in the VYSS was asking too. Why are the XR6T's so slow when they have so much rwhp. He's several GENIII customer's cars running mid/low eleven's (mostly manuals too) with less than 400rwhp.

Although my opinion is if you want to go drag racing buy an auto.

Purely because it takes time for boost to build, and the hp comes late.

What does a GenIII rev to?

Where does it make peak HP and Torque??

I was getting flogged to 1/4 track by 14 second Civics!!!

13 second GenIII would beat me to half track.

So, how do you get around this????????

Get a wog tune...

Auto's run good times because they build boost and leave with hp onboard off the line, not because they change gears quicker..

So is it the tune only that gave you the results or things you mentioned in post #48?

Good driving skills and traction sure would go a long way. How did the cold air influence the run? Did you try any other tunes on the same night?

You build boost in a manual by using the handbrake on the startline. Done it plenty of times with my old car, end result being lots of smoke and the painting of black lines

Not trying to stir :pinch: , but it would have been good to compare 2 or 3 different tunes on the same night, with the same climate, and same tyres for a real qualified result of which tune worked best.

Gramps did last week; there being roughly 0.05 between the BPT and Xtreme tune. Tested the same night, same driver etc

I think f6 Ute by his times alone has the optimal setup for his ride. 313rwkw

The right power in the right place at the right time, throw in driver skill , some sticky treads and he has done what many would not have thought possible.

Just goes to show that a dyno queen is exactly that. It is not about the absolute power figure , but where, when and how it is delivered. Also pretty hard to do in sync with the driver.Really is an outstanding peddle :pinch:

Did I hear sweet spot  You can have a krillion( spelling) rwkw ,You just have to be able to get it down, otherwise for the qtr it is just a waste.

I get your point.

Due to the fact that Nick had something to do with this the timeslips must have been tampered. Or perhaps he snuck out there before the drags and changed the gradient of the track. Maybe he even shortened the strip as well.

Who knows with dynowog, he just cannot be trusted – ever – especially if one resides in SA :kissmy:
