The "Tim Tam" donation is a nice gesture.

But seeing as how Arnotts is American owned they are off my buy list.

I'll make a donation direct instead.

On another tangent, did you all know that John Williamson re-wrote "true Blue" and removed "Vegemite" from the lyrics?

Onya John... :spoton:

Saw them yesterday, but with Macka, try and avoid buying Arnotts where ever possible (though, if im offered them :stupid: )

Having said that, Vegemite has been a Kraft brandname since the 1930's, so it has been yank for a long time.

If you like Vegemite but aren't a fan of the 'new' waxy texture and over-saltiness of it, try MightyMite (aka - Dickmite). I have it on good authority that it's like what vegemite used to taste like in the depression!

Lumpy :spoton:

OK...

Veal Ragout ( a great sauce for the gnocchi in the other thread )

Ingredients.

250gr Veal, minced

6 roma tomatos, peeled and chopped. ( Don't use canned stuff, too bitter )

4 Shallots, diced finely

2 sticks celery finely chopped

2 carrots also finely chopped

1 cup of good quality red wine ( use cab saz or pinot )

olive oil

Bacon stock cube

pinch of salt

Cook the shallots, celery, onion until the shallots are clear.

Add veal and break up with a fork, keeping it as fine as possible add the salt at this stage, it sweetens the meat and brings out the natural flavour.

Once browned, add the wine to degalze the pan, and cook until it is reduced by half.

Add the tomatos and simmer for atleast 30 mins.

YUM
