The pcm does, whether or not hp tuners has left it out I can't tell you. I'd have to plug it in and find the relevant PID to log. It seems very unlikely that you couldn't log it.

I've had instances when using HP tuners that you have to get the data from a different area than you'd expect. It isn't always in the default setup. You have to tell it to log something then you have to change the table to include the thing that you told it to log. It can even be as stupid as the table is not getting the rpm or map from the same place.

You can work around this if you know how to use HP tuners, plenty of people don't know about it though, including guys that have been in the business for 30 years.

Finally you shouldn't use the factory knock sensors for tuning. You switch off the knock sensors and use aftermarket knock ears to listen to the engine. After you have the timing dialled in, you turn the knock sensors back on then adjust the sensitivity so they aren't pulling timing unnecessarily. The reason the knock sensors show a reading when you use them for tuning is because the engine is knocking. That is bad for the engine and a lazy way to tune.
