To guys like Goliath and Adamski who are squatting decent numbers, could you describe your technique? Are you doing wide stance?

Mines a little bit wider than shoulder width with toes pointed out slightly. I track my knees over my toes which allows a deeper squat. Deep enough to blow the ass out of a pair of shorts during squats at lunch today.

Works for me anyway.

I have similar style to adamski with squatting. Don't let knees pass your toes and also don't go too low. I go just past parallel by like 5 or so degrees. Too much past makes your lower spine curl inwards and you loose your straight back and all safe form goes out the window.

Sumo stance?

Did 1000 steps yesterday.. What a difference me loosing 20kg and weight training makes. About 7months ago I was around 135kg, was sort of 'working out' and thought id give the 1000 steps a go. Only made it like half way and my quads were on fire and I was wrecked, I could barely make it back down. But yesterday, the walk from the car park to the base of the steps was a breeze, only the last 5 mins of the climb I started to struggle. Ran down the steps and ran back to the car park. It was a goal of mine to make it up, and now the goal is to make it up twice... Quads are sore today and probably tomo and thursday lol, so will train legs on friday and steps again on the weekend..

Also im doing a fun run soon so im sorta training for that, its only 5km run, but im a fat *beep* so its plenty for me lol...

I was the same last time I gave 1000 steps a crack a few years ago. Felt the burn by the time I got to the start. The walk from the car park is a killer when you're unfit like me!

Mine squat stance is similar, a little bit wider than shoulders. If I'm doing box squats I generally keep them shoulder width.

AFAIK wider stance helps with glute and hammy activation?

That's right Goliath.

Got my new Do-Win powerlifting shoes today. Should be able to nail squats now.

Managed 4 reps @ 200kg deadlift today as top set. Pretty stoked!
