Decided after 18mths of fairly consistent E85 use I should check out the fuel filter.

Looks pretty good/clean.... 20161008_083632.jpg

Until you see it buzzing away in the cleaner...

Didn't know where else to post, bit this thread gets a but of traffic either way.

Get into Repco this week for 10L of Penrite HPR 10, 10w-50 (Extra 10) $85 on special.

Or 5L for $47 I think it was.

Their Ryco filters also $5 cheaper than Supercheap.

That rattling sound that I thought could have been driveline related (half shaft cv joint or something) seems to be the exhaust.

Also, the diff in this car was only resealed last year, done about 10,000 since then at most. if it was petrol leaking onto the diff, I don't think it would have a residue like it seems to. I dont know, I tried to zoom in onto the diff for a moment there to show it, wonder if the diff needs resealing again...

to the exhaust shop. that's what I did to my car today. it's friday so time for a beer, might see if mechanic can sort it out while they're doing the p/s hose.

I started fitting ball joints and tie rod ends yesterday.

Being a bit of a tight arse I just welded up some pipe and thick washers, used some other pipe as a drift then started pressing with a g clamp and hammering to get them in and out.

Top came out and went in no worries.

The bottom ball joint came out easily enough but despite lining it up into a nice clean lower control arm the clamp sh*t itself.

I spose I could have messed around and made my own but I said "fark it" and ordered one of these.

Looks like I'll be driving a crappy Honda van with enough blowby to spool a turbo for the next week.
