I pulled that 6R80 apart that I bought the other day to see what da heck is wrong with it.

The torque converter ate itself then barfed metal chunks so it is throwaway for me. It chucked a good bit of metal into the trans as well but most of it is in the pan and filter.

Apart from that the box is in average condition except for at least one bush that is pretty farked. The clutches and steels are in average/good nick still.

I put it back together when I was done and I'll do more with it down the track.

All in all a pretty good score for $50, a tank of fuel and 8 hours of driving!

Here's some pictures cos why not?!

looks like that magnet did it's job... going to be taking some of the parts and using them in your 6HP26?

Yep.

I know that you can use the input shaft and the pump but it's been a while since I read up on it so I cant remember what else you can use or what other stuff needs to be changed.

It'll be a while before I do anything with it cos I'll need to get a different converter and I have other priorities this year.

At any rate I might just put those exedy clutches I bought into my zf6hp26 when I take the motor out.

One simple job...

Replaced my BOV. Went for a drive, no boost at all. Forgot the clamp on the throttle body. Tightened that and went for another drive. Plenty of boost, but also plenty of hektic dose bro.

Turns out I had fitted the BOV the wrong way round.

Looks like I'll be getting my pos sorted out by the middle of March.

I don't wanna say much more yet but it should be better than stock.

Not today. Just a few things over the last couple of weekends but have been too lazy/late for a drinking appointment to post on time.

Got my exhaust finished & it's all working micky [emoji108]
Will pull it off in a couple weeks to check for any leaks and hit it with some exhaust paint to cover my sh*tty welding [emoji28]

Fabricated some fully custom Mudflaps!

And installed a 60w 'reversing light'
Needless to say I hate both reversing & the dark.
