Always been a big sennheiser fan I have hd25s they block out everything without noise cancelling business..

But yeh for in ear phones your bose ones look like decent options!!!

Sennheiser here too - HD650's and HD598's - love open can. hate closed cans and IEM's.

That said - if I was flying often then the Bose would be on my must have list - probably the QC's. I think you'd be surprised how much more they do cancel out compared to the HD25's - especially when flying with the drone, cabin noises etc

My headphones, they're custom molded...no noise canceling but they seal up nicely and block out EVERYTHING. Can't even hear someone talking right next to me even if I have the volume right down.

Sound, comfort, build... it's just a really solid package if you have no issue with open-air cans.

Have u tried the hd25s? I bought em when I was djing, could stand right next to an extremely loud monitor speaker in clubs and hear everything...

They go loud as f*ck without distorting as well like.. Have to pull them off they are so loud

Definitely not a sound that suits everyone though, quite flat..

I'm sure noise cancelling ones are better for constant drone of aircraft though...

That's mainly what I don't like about closed cans - the isolation lol

Not being able to hear the world around me in addition to the sounds I'm listening to - gets a bit claustrophobic. Almost feels like I lose a sense or something.

Have even got speakers in my helmet rather than use in ears.

That said - I'm never really in an environment that the sound leakage is a problem. If I was then the closed cans would definitely be preferred.

Closed cans/sealed in ears/noise canceling is good for an office environment where there's lots going on around you. Helps me tune out everything else around me and focus on what I'm doing.
