Wouldn't it be best to just run an earth straight from battery to somewhere in boot instead of running it the length of the car?

(total notice here so might be a stupid question)

Yeah that will be fine,I just had left over welding cable so made use of it and made more of a circuit, similar to a Hot Earth kit.

*novice

I prefer to earth at the battery then also run an earth back the the engine and chassis in the Engine bay ( Call it an earth circuit like Gilly if you want) The layered sheet metal construction of our cars can cause issues with conductivity if you only earth at the battery.

Hey Gilly do you ever get around to posting those wheel spacers?

Haha notice/novice. Total noob pretty much.

Where can I get a boot battery from? Dry cell battery I take it is what I need?

Looking at what I got sent, looks like I'll need to buy some lugs to go over the ends of the cable so I can attach the battery clamps for the terminals. And a few nuts since it seems to be missing some lol

What sort of battery do you want? I would recommend a Optima D51R from battery king in belmont. Around $220 IIRC

I want whichever I'll need haha. If that's what is recommended, that's what I'll get.

Is this the one?

Only other ones on there site are on this page, figured the 51 falls in the 34-78 range?

R stood for R...?? You high? R stands for Reverse Terminal config, which may/may not be required when installing in the boot.

Normal config = when holding facing the battery with the terminal side towards you +ve is on the left -ve is on the right. R config is the opposite of what I just typed.

Time for new battery thread??
