I hate Halloween for two reasons;

It's an American thing.

And it was initiated by the church to make pagans feel like fools.

Like believing in the earth, forest, sun, moon, water and fire was so ridiculous when you could worship god and a story book.

The church also turned another important pagan day into a mockery , April fools day.

Sorry, all I see is someone is pissed off at lots of kids knocking on their door (which is fair).

Even if there was only a slim chance of free 'candy,' as a kid I'd be door-knocking like a Mormon too!

Protip: next year, when they say "Trick or Treat!" reply "Trick," and watch them get all confused.

Almost got egged on a cruise I ran last night to the badlands (Ellenbrook Maccas) by a throng of trick or treaters. They were belting cars driving by and we turned in to where they were instead of driving by and copping it...but they started hurling them when we parked up to get some food.

None of us got hit and good news is they egged a car full of Maoris who at least managed to give one a kick up the arse (literally). They said they felt bad as they were just kids...but "I'll do your parent's job for you!" *boot*

Haha! Yeah, because the parents certainly aren't doing it enough.

Where do people stand on smacking (I'm not going to say 'hitting' - the connotations can be taken differently) their kids these days? I know I copped a bit (but almost always rightly so) when I was younger, but these days...
