we have a local company here, produces 2 type s of milk , one is totally organic, the other is jersey cows milk.

they are both pasteurised but not homogenised.

ie, the cream rises to the top just like when you were a kid

and tastes sooooo much better IMO than milk that has been homogenised

we pay double the price for the misty mountains and just over $5 for the mungalli  stuff.

Coles has been selling the stuff for years now (in Cairns) but it hasnt been on the shelf for over 4 weeks now

I was 14 before I ever had store bought milk at home. Un-pasteurised can be bad for you if it comes from places that arnt kept in sterile conditions, or is kept too long, or if your immune system is weaker than normal. People use to look at me funny when I use to shake the carton of milk.... old habits. 

 

There is a Margaret River company that does un-homogenised milk, I get that when I can but not sold in many places. 

 

For those interested - Pasteurised kills the bugs, Homogenised breaks down the fat molecules so the cream doesn't settle on the top. Jersey's produce some of the highest butter fat or "creamiest" milk.

That stuff rocks man, you don't have to use as much as well so I find the price easier to take!
