Would it be overkill to set fire to my pc?

 

I swapped one plug and now I have had no signal to the monitor for an hour regardless of plugs, power, restarts and fark knows what. 

 

Farken serious. An entire hour of stuffing around and still nothing

probably a tad... my guess is you're just too tired to properly troubleshoot the problem?

Yeah as much as I'd like to give it some percussive maintenance I know it won't help. 

 

The best I can get is for it to boot with both hdmi and dp connected and it appears that it is showing me a screen but the mouse is in another screen. The keyboard works though. The dp cable is doing nothing. 

 

Usually when that happens I can move the mouse over and fix the screen in the display settings.
