Curiously enough though, I didn't really notice much difference dropping from 100/40 to 50/20. Still seems fast enough to stream 4K and downloads still go plenty quick enough.

You'll love nbn when you get connected, even simple things like skipping to the good bit in porn becomes enjoyable.....

im also going Aussie broadband.

 

im fekn over the adsl since I moved in to my place, constant drop outs, slow as fek. they cant fix it but happy to charge me every month for the rubbish.

I told them what I wanted a couple of weeks ago and they sent me a quote - finalised the application Weds.

 

I reckon I must be one of the 1st in the area to get it - NBN wasn't live yesterday when I was speaking to the girl.

 

Got this about a half hour after the sms above:

 

Welcome aboard as a new Aussie Broadband customer!

Below are the details for your NBNCo activation or appointment. If we haven't already, we'll also send you these in a text message.

Your appointment date for the install of your nbnTM service is Friday 25th of January between 8am and 12pm. Please note an adult will need to be at the premises, and the NBNCo technician may also need to access any communications room and/or main distribution frame if your premises has one.

all depends if it's FTTN or FTTP

 

FTTP looks like this

fiber to the node looks like it does now.........nothing

your copper line gets hooked into the node (for want of a better description)
