Foxtel HD makes me lol. They charge $10 extra per month for 720p like it's 2004 or something. 1080p has been the standard for ages now, and 4k the little extra. God I hate Foxtel!

Yep - but in SD, not HD :S

 

edit: I think a couple of regional areas get it in HD - otherwise it's good old 576i for everyone else

No, I need money to start, around a million to be exact. That would get me a shed to rent, materials, time to RD a boat, build a boat. Pay staff, Work on other peoples boats to do repairs and detailing to have some sort of cashflow coming in. I'd expect to go backwards the first year and hope my boats would actually sell. 

 

There's is no work out there to build boats for larger companies, all the contracts are already taken by the same people that have been doing it for the last 25 years, they are friends with the bosses and it's a close community. It's either steal work and slowly get pushed out anyway or detail and repair boats, even with that I would be competing with a handful of people that have their finger in the pie already.

 

 

I'm a qualified boat builder, that's all I've done, that's all I know. I'd love to study  computer game design and everything in between but time and money wont allow it, and it's a massive learning curve. I do it in my spare time with what free time I have but realistically it would take five or more years to become fully competent in the field.

 

Mortgage and Bill's are a killer and dont want to go backwards at the speed at the speed of lights because I want to do something differrent. Especially being on one income at the moment because of the little one.

 

So it's not not as easy as getting a ABN, order materials and just start working for myself. If it was we would all do it.
