What Panda said.

With only the 4 runs (and only one where I knew what the issue was) I didn't really have a chance to look at/think about what I was doing wrong.

I'm thinking that I must have been holding the shifter in such a way that the jerk of the gear change caused me to move it enough to register as another shift. Am hoping that's the case at least - not sure what else it could be unless there's some fault in the unit somewhere.

Only driven a ZF once.. Was pretty easy to do accidentally in the one I drove and that wasn't on a drag strip..

Practice makes perfect RAB.. The joy of cars is learning how to push em.. And I'm sure that's something you just can't wait to get out and keep playing with.. (The shifter that is..)

Was the gearbox automatically shifting itself and just as it does it you command it to shift up again?

I had that happen a few times at drags cos I had it in manual but hadn't pushed up on the stick so it was still automatically shifting just in performance mode

I don't think so Lennox, but it could explain it.

Am sure I would have switched it to 1st, but in the muddle of staging I could have gone blank concentrating on other things.

I watched him do exactly that while I was in Melbourne SDP and his car finally got traction about 10 feet past the finish line.....lol

Shifting:

I did notice that when we were just driving around Rab, you do have your hand on top of the shifter so could of been the 'gear change jerk' that caused you to bump it into another gear.

Try putting ya hand in front of the shifter and see how that goes.

1.9x 60 foot...........damn - - you've caught me
