Got home from work last night, so I managed to spend a little time on the car today. I'm trying to get startup, before I go to W.A for work (Monday by the looks of it). Fingers crossed....

Now that the rocker cover is back, I modified the Nizpro rocker garnish to suit the -12 breathers. I am quite disappointed in the finish of the garnish, as I had to modify and remove a considerable amount of material to get it to fit nicely. Maybe I'm just too picky, who knows......

The middle section is very pitted and is very poor quality, and the molding around the lettering also leaves a lot to be desired. So, this area will be milled flat tomorrow.

I also found a little time, to fit the first of many pieces of new leather. I didn't quite get it perfect yet, but it is getting there...

Nizpro products MMMMmmm. But professional finish and paint sorted it.

I know what you mean with the finish on the garnish....I ended up glass blasting mine and finishing with a wet rub to smooth her out.

Epic build mate no stone unturned I like it :)

I thought that I was going to get start up today, but I ran into a few hurdles. I primed the fuel lines and found a few loose fittings. Half way through filling the radiator with coolant, I found out that the FG block have an additional port in the block (Near starter motor) that requires a bung. I damaged the power steering reservoir, when I was polishing some scratches out in the lathe. So, I purchased a catch can and modified it (ended up much nicer anyway). Found out that the vacuum ports in the plenum are BSP. And that Speedflow don't make a dash 4 fitting to suit. GRRRR!!!! Overall a testing day, with the proverbial two steps forward, one step back. We did however, get the start up tune installed and the oil pump primed. I was flat out all day and I didn't think of getting a picture early enough. So, this will have to do for now....

Geordi Stainless - (Link) based in Melbourne. Very good service and fantastic prices. :ok:

Oh....motec or haltech?

No prob mate,I trust they'll get polished?

We finished making the new power steering reservoir, as I damaged the other while polishing it in the lathe. I also tied up a lot loose ends and fastened all of the lines with stainless steel ties today . A few more goodies are going to arrive and the rocker cover garnish will be painted, all while I'm away. Then BROOM, BROOM !!!!

We finished the new power steering reservoir. We modified a catch can that we purchased from Autobarn. Damaging the other unit was a kind of blessing, as this one is much nicer.

I finished milliing the Nizpro cover, So it has been sent to the painters, and will be coated in the same colour (Silhouette) as the car. A bloody lot of work has gone into it, to get it looking acceptable.....
