Anyone out there with an iphone?

Yep, iPhone person here.

The cruise that I led back in February: I figured on a local lap of the river.

I:

- Used Google Maps to pick a bunch of points along the way.

- Got the GPS co-ordinates for each point.

- Used some software to create a POI (Points Of Interest) file for my TomTom GPS with the GPS co-ordinates.

- Labelled each point numerically (ie 1, 2, 3, etc).

- Drove to each point, with the other cars driving along behind me.

A bit of stuffing around setting up the TomTom stuff, but it all worked well.

Phil, thanks for the update. I am still to figure out how Steve did it previously and it worked.

Anyways being someone that will lead the pack, it will work for me.

I just feel sorry for the other lads that may get lost.

The google app called "My Maps" allows me to use my saved maps from my deaktop pc, thus I have no need to setup my tom tom. :)

Back to cruise and tits. So whats the go? We gonna cruise down the strip at freo?

:P

I made the turn by turn Word Document myself each time (copy and paste Google directions and edit to a nicer layout) and drove from that and my memory, never got GPS on phone going!

If you get a system going just on Google maps let me know hahaha.

Steve, that is what I am saying mate. As a CC, if you use the google application called "MY Maps", it allows you to do just that.

When we speak next, I shall show you.

But I am trying to figure out a way to share this function with others. ;)

Wtf Steve??? I just been telling Marco to talk to you because you did create a gps map on the first cruise I went to (the one starting near bunnings somewhere and I met cop jaimie lol and you brought the US rellies along). On that cruise you put up a link in the group PM and then I clicked it and chose google maps to open the link and the whole journey came up and gave directions the whole way?

If you can't remember what you did then must have been super lucky coincidence???

hahaha, so are we going to have 3 separate cruises then? we have 3 votes on each of the options.

There was mention of joining cruises between the ford and some Expensive Daewoo folk as well.

Thoughts?

Expensive Daewoo folk.....no thanks :P

I'm probably not going; so see what others rekon....if its only a few extras should be ok...but if its a massive Expensive Daewoo club with hella kunts, then it might be sh*t??

And mod or CC should see who voted for 'other' and make them decide hahaha

Edit: still doesn't make sense though cause says 14 votes but then 3 for each day and 1 for other ???

It's not a GPS map file...I just open Google maps on my PC and choose the route, then share the Google link, easy. What people's devices do with it after that is anyone's guess!
