good luck with that. I bought CCDCAM camera about 7 years ago. It has been a mission to get working.

I ended up getting an NVR for just under a grand at wholesale price to get it all working.

I did not want another pc running at my place to be honest.

However if you are interested in getting stuff for the pc.....

Free and pain in the ass.

https://wiki.zoneminder.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Server_14.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.28.0_the_easy_way?

That is an old thread, but I am sure that ubuntu is now at 16. something.

If you want to read about the latest then:

https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2702037&p=49

the above thread is part 9

There are other parts with 100 pages in each one.

If you post your questions in there, you should get better responses I would say from people that have experience in regards to the PC side of things.

I went an NVR myself too.

Set and forget :)

I'd be more tempted to set the small form factor up as a media server if it was something you'd use.

not a problem. I spent almost a year and a half looking for a solution for my cameras. in the end the solution came in the form of an NVR.

The third one that I had bought as the cameras from China are an unknown especially when you are the guinea pig.

Take the screen with you when you go?

(hint: don't need a GPU to have a screen saver/screen lock etc)

Nope,

Three other IT staff here have used them and speak very highly of them.  One moved on from his HIK Visions and is most impressed with the quality versus the price.
