I was getting a whopping 6fps at 1440p with my 1080ti at 2050MHz and 25fps at 720p. Looks like I need a 2080ti after all.

Plenty of changes happening in the graphics world and you’d be stupid to buy a 2080ti at this point

That should be a reasonable time to upgrade most of my stuff. The dollar to performance ratio just isn't there yet.
