we don't get too much of that sort of thing here in Victoria, but they definitely show up every now and then.

probably a smart idea to look into that sort of stuff.

Yeh don't take any chances with those, especially with 4 kids around

Our old house was right beside the bush and we saw them every now and then, found one on the front verandah once which freaked out the wife no end.

Caught it and put it in an ice cream container, pretty aggressive...move anywhere near it and it would rear up and lunge forward with great enthusiasm.

Made a few phone calls since I'd heard they were short on antivenin, got shunted from reptile park to royal north shore hospital to a few other places and no one really had a clue about what to do or where I could drop it off.

Ended up just dropping a brick on it.

You get them there ay?

I've noticed dozens of funnel web lairs in my yard lately. I might have to look at some form of pest control, cos I don't want them coming inside when it cools down.

invest in a few ducks, they eat them and are cool pets. Funnel webs dont climb so that's also something to take into account

I did talk with the missus about getting some ducks. I'll have to get online and have a gander (half a pun?) to see what's suitable for this area.
