X-cal 1 To Become Useless?

I think I will be looking at other tuning options like Sniper and Hp Tuners. But I will also talk to my tuner to find out his thoughts.

Jsut spoke to my tuner and he said that from there point of view I have nothing to worry about.

I think this may be a big scare tactic towards CAPA from SCT, wait a week or so and see what developes.

I already had a distaste for herrod, just because they build sh*t ass cars

Guys please keep the talk of illegal behaviour (I.e. cracking software) off this forum.

I realise your frustration but this is not the place for it sorry.

Why would it be be illegal to crack the software tab ? the software has been copyrighted against copying not for making the software that the tuners have paid for already work......The action SCT has taken .... is that Legal !!!

They have basically ripped off the consumer , I say who ever has got knowledge to do it go ahead and offer it to the tuners that are going to suffer because of it, they will probably even reimburse you for your time. Some back in your face type sh*t !

why should people lose hundreds and even thousands because of some back end bullsh*t !!!!

just had a quick chat with office of fair trading nsw ,as far as they are concerned it sounds dodgey but the first place I was told to seek refund ,replacement or such from the original place of purchase ,mine was bought from c&v and it would be for them to chase their supplier and so on to get their re imbursment

I think all you tuners may want to get together real quick and get some legal advise

The only people that will benifit from this course wil be solicitors. Cooler heads make wiser choices, and unity will prevail. Intersting subject and I wait for each and every new post with anticipation. But for me I believe that no solutrion will be immediately available and that timne will correct this issue.

whoever is responsible at the top the problem will be it's not for the individual to chase them ,If you have been sold a product that has become unservisable in an unacceptable time frame you must first take action with the company you purchased it off .

so what do you do ,I know I'm pissed about being forced to spend 1k on something I didn't need because the one I had worked fine ,and I don't think we all want to go chasing our workshops and lodging complaints against them to gov dept ,but a rip off of this scale needs to delt with

Mate afetr reading Headsexes posts, how is your box unusable? Are you compiling parts waitng for a tune 6 mounths down the track, are you ready now? If tuners on this forum are cluey or have read this thread in time then they have cancelled auto update and can still utilze the XCAL 1 and 11 for a period of time. IF the rumour mill is correct this problem may well rectify itself before this period of time has expired. Do I agree with this paractice no, and do I believe that people will be annoyed inconvienienced, yes absolutely. But I am yet to see any real financial destruction here as of yet, and the place is a community and I would hate to see this tarnished by the BS tatics of an overseas company, or profiteering due to panic setting and and people paying more than the going rate for tunes.
