What gets me is, people stating what they believe is facts about sh*t they do not not know for sure and it comes at my expense,

What happens when some one comes into my shop trying to bargain me down because they have read I have 100% mark up on my parts, or they think I can sell a X3 for $355 and make money.

You are upset about something that affects your hobby, but then indirectly spread untruths about my lively hood.

I came into this thread to try to help clear up any misconception's, I might just stick to working on cars making my millions of dollars

Anybody want to buy a extremely profitable business, make me an offer

:roflmbo:

I think everyone needs to stick to the facts (which there seems very few of in this thread) and forget about what they think they know.

4 months on, who's upgraded and who's still to stubborn?

Who's upgraded and still angry?

I've upgraded because I had no choice, but I've got a tuned car nowwhich is what I wanted. Compared to my s14 where it was $4000 for a motec brought and installed then tuning on top, 500 odd changeover isn't bad. Mick at pitlane isn't responsible, neither is herrods.

Mark up is just a part of good business.

At the end of the day sct is partly responsible, and so are the tuners that tried to scam them. It's happened, move on, get a x3 and a tune., or stop winging. .

Fair enough...

Everyone has to make money somehow... Some people make it on parts by marking up by a percentage whilst others do it on labour...

ie. Either mark up 80% and charge $70 per hour labour or do at cost price and charge $90 per hour... Either way you get the same margin on each job.

Just like how someone said the box was at "cost price" @ $350... Maybe the tuner knocked some of the cost off other things and/or charged cheaper for the tune...

Kinda like when you buy a new car and you get $12000 "trade in"... But really they may be charging $2000 less for the car and trading in for $10000 to a used car dealer...

The way people choose to run their business is up to them, however, SCT have screwed some people royally...

To help everyone get the true facts I think it is time sct them selves stated on here and other forums the true reason theyy have done what they did.

And I mean true in plain english there reasons for it and if it is because there was tuners do some illegal stuff them say there was 1,2 or how many doing it I know they can't name names right now.

When they do this and we the forum members and tuners have the truth then things will be clear.

At the moment it appears that not even sct or herrods or who ever else involved is prepared to let the customers of this product know the truth.

And this is what is creating the major problem.

SO IT IS TIME SCT COME CLEAN AND CLEAR THIS UP DO NOT HIDE BEHIND THE SCREEN IN THE USA COME CLEAN NOW.

we know you are watching

It may not be 100% but I think there is a real good margin in it, for sure. We are a tiny market here, no real competion

so, the industry can dictate to the consumer in this country.

Want to pay realistic prices for your hobby, move to the USA, oh, but then you will need to rely on tips to survive and your medical bills will take all the savings your have made on you gear, can't win..

You cannot compare the prices and markups being charged in the performance industry, to the "mainstream" workshop.

Remember, you are paying for special parts and labour...

This thread has turned to sh*t.

To only way to clarify this is to name and shame the offending workshops, which is slander, and then what?

Was the tuner adding on savings or pocketing the change?

Chase down people that got cheap tunes and demand money?

Try sue the workshop for a couple of hundred $$$?

SCT should be accountable for there actions, I agree 100% with this, bit so far no one has cme up with a binding, legal, solution.

It's all just heresay.

Pointless thread is pointless.

Hi guys, is there any other major forums, besides Nizpro, that this issue effects people on? Besides AFF of course.

Something for SCT to think about. Re-enable the X1 and apologise to the people of Australia please. You can fix this before it gets too expensive.
